Seaspray is a 260sqm 4 bedroom home with double garage. The layout has a study, front entry and garage to the street with laundry and guest bathroom behind. As you move through from the entry the view opens up vertically and horizontally with a drop in floor level and the living/dining and kitchen/walk in pantry across the full width of the house to take advantage of the view and sun.
The upper level contains 4 large bedrooms, main with ensuite and walk in robe, main bathroom, separate toilet, walk in linen store plus a TV/reading area located centrally for use by the family at night.
The butterfly roof form is dynamic and sculptural. The street elevation has sculptural copper blades that act as adjustable sun shading. Windows to the upper level bathrooms along the sides are within projecting boxes at 90 degrees to the boundary. The rear terrace has sliding louvre screens for privacy.
If built as a prefabricated house, it can be finished to lockup in 30 days carried to site on only five truckloads. The building is made of lightweight framing and clad with prepainted fibrous cement panels. All internal areas are prefinished and serviced, only requiring connection of electrical switchboard to the mains and plumbing connections beneath the house. It is designed as a Complying Development under the NSW Housing Code 2008.
