Ausmar Group, formerly Ausmar Homes, sought to expand and relocate from Noosa hinterland based Cooroy to more central Maroochydore. The site is in a new industrial/commercial precinct of the expanding Maroochydore City centre, opposite an home maker centre.
Their brief was to create a new look for the business, which would emphasise their quality of design and workmanship. Although located in an industrial area, the building had to use materials and typologies that spoke to customers of “home” rather than office building.
The building has a double height entry foyer with living room setting which leads to a showroom at the lower level and to Ausmar’s offices on the upper level. The building’s glazed facades feature large overhangs and timber sunshades to protect against Queensland’s fierce solar gain while the office space is naturally lit from the window wall and a roof top clerestory.
