The Boral Group engaged Kann Finch Group to design a new corporate headquarters in Greystanes NSW, coalescing the many business groups of the organization from all over Western Sydney. This resulted in a 15,000sqm complex on an old pine plantation hill site overlooking the Great Western Highway.
Matt, as Project Director, worked with the client and the Department of Planning to design a 2-stage development: the first of 10,000sqm and a later 5,000sqm building nearby.
The solution is a “V” plan form of two 3-storey office wings connected by a central common area at each level. A 200-person cafeteria, is located at a lower level opening out to a landscaped terrace.
The façade is made up of a cost effective prefinished insulated spandel with ribbon windows. For sun shading and cleaning of windows Matt designed a system of aluminium grill screens and walkways supported on stainless steel cables.
